If you haven’t already ordered from Joanie Clothing, allow me to put one of my favourite brands on your radar. They have the most clever designs, from slogan sweaters to quirky summer prints and patterns for summer dresses. I should also mention, upfront, that they run up to a size 22! What’s not to love here? Every piece is also one that won’t break your credit card in half.
Over the years, I’ve featured a great many Joanie pieces, but I’ve never done a try on. So I thought it high time to spotlight this brand and what better way to do it than with some beautiful summer pieces? There are lobsters, strawberries and even a few pieces that aren’t all about food 🙂 Most importantly, though, they can all be worn now!
A few notes, as usual, I’m a UK18, US14-16. I’m 6’2, so keep this in mind when looking at length. If you’re interested in learning more about each garment, and want to see it in video style, run over to my instagram and see everything moving and grooving in my Instagram Stories. Now, let’s get this show on the road! Oh wait, one more thing, affiliate links are used in this post!
(also available in a shade of red)
I know I shouldn’t choose favourites, but I’m going to call it with this one and just go ahead and declare that I’m starting with the one I clearly marked as a favourite before I ever held it in my hand. I adore this dress and everything about it. I love the way that Joanie Clothing understand curves when designing their clothes. I love how they truly take everything into consideration. So rare! It fits me perfectly, runs true to size and is eternally flattering. The print is beautiful, and I’m sure I’ve seen dresses that look very close in shape that have an extra zero on the price this season. Get this dress!
Why don’t more people use strawberries in fashion? Call me biased, as it is my favourite fruit, but I feel the strawberry is overlooked. Thank you, Joanie, for not only giving us embroidered strawberries, but a dress that is cut beautifully, fits true to size, has pockets and I know will be in wardrobes forever! I wish I had also taken a picture of the back! This is a dress that is cut beautifully all around and the back is quite simply beautiful with criss cross straps. This is a piece made for summer parties!

Second favourite here. I am a girl that can’t say no to Toile and so this tea dress was a shoe in. It’s the most delicate shade of pink and comes in at the perfect length. The fabric is unbelievably soft, it has pockets and will look amazing on a Sunday stroll in Charleston (or anywhere, really). I can’t imagine anyone not adoring this piece. It’s fabulously feminine and easy to throw on and go with a pair of sandals, a straw bag and a great hat!

Do you really even need me to write anything at all here? LOBSTERS!!!!! It’s a lobster print dress and there is so much to love here. If you know anything about me, you’ll know a lobster anything is my weakness. I blame spending every summer of my life in Maine! Get involved before this sells out. I mean it’s lobsters with pockets. I’m in heaven!

There have been so many comments made on this dress already online and I’d like to add my two cents in. I adore this little number! I feel like I should be an extra on the set of Dirty Dancing in this piece! I will just say this on sizing. If you are ample breasted, you may want to upsize one step. I found things a little snug in the boob area.
That’s it for today’s try on! Come back around on Thursday for another one from a retailer I’ve never featured before 🙂
