What to wear walking in the country

Is there anything better than that feeling of super crunchy grass under your feet on an autumn morning? You know when it’s finally cold enough out that the blades of grass become little icicles? It’s that time of year and I’m obsessing over any spare time I get being spent in the countryside, taking long walks over rolling hills. It’s one of the best things about this beautiful country….the endless walking opportunities. But, the weather is no joke. You HAVE to layer and bundle up accordingly, and planning for every eventuality when you do. Wellies or heavy boots are almost always a must. A chunky knit and a waterproof jacket are also needed. But, when it comes to trousers vs skirts, sometimes I choose the less practical and more photographable option. It’s all still entirely doable, maybe just a bit less “I’ll just hop over this or throw my leg over that.” And that’s what you’re seeing here. What I’m wearing to breakfast, without the jacket at first, and just before a two mile hike through those previously mentioned rolling hills. I’m a country girl, in case you haven’t noticed.
