Written in partnership with Marks & Spencer
I’m not sure if you’ve officially recognised this, but I feel like it will come of no surprise for you to hear that separates in fashion are having a serious moment! Whereas I have always preferred the ease of throwing on a dress and going, I’ve found myself oddly attracted to this new trend and my closet most definitely reflects it. In theory, it’s not all that different from the concept of a dress. Separates are designed to work together. So, an easy outfit is simply throwing the two together and running out the door, providing the same “pulled together” look as a dress. However, the glory of separates is this. The two pieces can be used to create dozens of different looks when styled apart.
So, the hunt begins for separates that will work for you and your body shape. For me, the past few seasons have showcased Marks & Spencer as an excellent source for separates shopping. This week I featured one of my favourite from the bunch (seen above). And I can guarantee you’ll be seeing more of both pieces in the future (I’ll be sure to do a roundup of ways to wear). For now, I wanted to share with you a few of the other separates pieces that I have purchased, while they are still available in all sizes. All of the items featured below come up to a size 22, are light and airy for the summer heat and give a sort of elegant relaxation to any look. I cannot recommend everything below enough. Marks & Spencer are killing it with the separates game. It’s definitely worth a look in and quick try on. Who knows… you might just fall in love!
