Style Update: The perfect polka dot wrap dress

The sun is out for five minutes and my spring wardrobe is out in full bloom. I’ve packed away nearly all the sweaters, officially retired the big winter coats and am slowing phasing out the over-the-knee boots. The headlines are all predicting a three month heat wave in London, and I, rather naively, am choosing to believe them. This could all go terribly wrong. It could still snow. Don’t laugh. It’s happened before. Let’s just think positively and go forth with heat in mind. My first real spring moment was this one. I stepped out earlier this week in a bright white dress with polka dots. I will admit I hadn’t totally lost the plot. I did bring a trench coat out with me. It is, after all, still freezing in the mornings.

I will warn you, however, that I’m showcasing only spring from here on out. Apart from a quick trip to Scotland next week (which I’ve kept some warm clothes aside for), I’m all about dressing as you mean to continue. So, the packing away of the winter wardrobe wasn’t just talk. All posts for the foreseeable future are about light and airy dresses, sandals, beautiful unlined coats and the occasional trouser feature.

For now, let’s talk about this little number, which I do believe is one of the best spring/summer dresses out of the gate. It’s a beautiful wrap, which fits and flatters as a wrap dress should. Side note: I do believe every single woman should have a wrap dress in their wardrobe. It’s the dress that just keeps on giving! As I’ve gotten older and “things” aren’t as smooth as they used to be, I’ve parted ways with my jersey wrap dresses. But, one as light and airy as this, is flattering for every age and every body shape. So, get involved.
