When I’m buying dresses these days, I am actively trying on with a goal in mind: how long will this last me? What’s my price per wear going to be? In the winter, this can be tough when you are buying sweater dresses. They are more or less meant for one of two seasons and that’s it. They then need to find a place in storage when the warmer summer months present themselves. It’s not ideal and also why you’ll find me showcasing them a lot less. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not throwing the idea of sweaters or sweater dresses out the window, I’m just trying to get more bang for my buck with closet investments. This is all, naturally, meant to build up to talking about today’s dress. This is an autumnal selection, as part of my ambassadorship role with Marks & Spencer, and it’s a dress that is truly season-less, depending on how you wear it.
For autumn winter, this dress is the ideal layering piece. It’s lightweight, long sleeved and midi length, making it the perfect dress to wear under a big coat with a chunky pair of boots. For summer, just throw on with a pair of brown sandals, a boho bag and roll the sleeves up on the warmer days. Your wardrobe really should always be this easy, people. Sadly, not all pieces are created equal in this way. This one, however, deserves a place in your year round closet!
