Have any of you guys made your way into Arket yet? I have to say I was a bit hesitant. Did I really need another H&M owned store in my life. Well, I think we both know I wasn’t going to be able to stay away forever. I can’t let a store open and not go inside, now can I? So about a year after opening, I finally passed the threshold. Now, you have to understand I was stepping in for research purposes only. I wasn’t planning on buying anything at all. And I’ll tell you, Arket made that easier than I thought they would as there wasn’t a single dress I could button across my bust. Cheers, guys. But, there was one skirt… one beautiful elastic waist skirt.
While a part of me did want to say “screw you for your ridiculously small sizing,” another part of me couldn’t let this skirt go. So I caved. I reluctantly went to the cash register and spent £89 on a skirt. Yup, it wasn’t cheap. In fact there isn’t much in store that is. There is a reason for this – the clothes are the new midrange for the high street mega brand. And yes, this skirt was worth the £89. It’s great quality, I will keep it in my wardrobe forever, so the price per wear is way down there, and it has pockets. Don’t even get me started on the skirt and pocket situation. Why doesn’t everyone do this? Anywho, today wasn’t meant to be a rant. Moral of the story is this – try everything. I wasn’t super excited about this retailer, I also wasn’t impressed at all with their sizing, but in the end they still took my money for the one item in the store I couldn’t live without. Go figure.
