Fancy a cocktail in an allotment? Yup, this is London’s REAL beer (and vegetable) garden

Just when you think you’ve seen it all for bars and restaurants in London, something like this crops up. The guys over at Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings are taking the idea of a beer garden quite literally with their latest venture. Beautiful Allotment is a pop up bar in East London that exists in and amongst an impromptu allotment. When I first got the news of the opening I was downright confused. Were we being invited into a communal garden in East London to enjoy freshly made Blood Marys from a public garden? While there are Bloody Marys on the menu, this is anything but your average allotment.

A Beautiful Allotment it certainly is. Whether you choose a treehouse, a blanket on the grass, a swinging bed or an outdoor couch, this is a night out in London that shouldn’t be missed. And trust me when I say you don’t have that long to enjoy it. It’s only open for another month, running until August 26th 2018. So, here’s the skinny. The allotment has popped up in the courtyard of the Geoffrey Museum on Eastland Road with the nearest tube station being Hoxton. You can book for 4-40 people online, so it’s basically going to be the easiest open air venue you’ll book all summer and with the heatwave we are having you’ll be thankful for the easy access. The cocktails are lovely, the food is healthy and delicious and the entire atmosphere is downright surreal. In a nutshell, it’s something you have to do at least once if you’re in the city this summer. In my opinion, the bigger the group you go with, the better. For those having a hard time visualising this whole outfit, check out a little visual diary of our night out….
