For those of you that live in West London, you’re going to want to add this to your “must lunch or brunch” list ASAP. The Television Centre at White City is finally open, after years of renovation, and it’s featuring quite the line up of culinary treats for those in the area. This is a summer destination in the making and today I’m introducing you to the first restaurant I’ve stepped into since the grand opening. This is The Allis at White City. It sits on the ground floor of the newest Soho House in London and, unlike the members club, is open to every single member of the public looking to enjoy club sandwiches, cocktails, and more.
I went in for lunch last month and left with quite an appreciation for my new local eatery. Yes, the Television Centre is a five minute walk from my house and I couldn’t be happier to have a new place to meet friends and family for drinks this summer. I’m also a member of Soho House, so the club itself will most definitely be a second office in the sun. That might have something to do with the fact that it has a rooftop pool and more. But, we’ll talk about that later. For now, let’s talk food at The Allis.
The Allis offers breakfast, afternoon tea and an all day menu for those wishing to visit any time of day. For me, it’s all about the tuna tartare and the club sandwich. Pair those dishes with a couple of Picante de la Casas (basically a spicy margarita) and I’ve found my happy place. The space is vast, the staff are exceedingly friendly and the atmosphere is perfect for a catchup with friends. Chances are you’ll also see me milling about. Not sure if that’s a plus or a minus for you, but there it is.
If I’m not downstairs in The Allis, you will find my upstairs in the club house. As I mentioned before, White City is my new local Soho House and it’s one of the largest houses to date. It features two members’ floors, a rooftop pool, 45 bedrooms, a cinema, screening room and a 24,000 foot gym (including an indoor swimming pool, juice bar, hammam and more)! The redesign of the space pays homage to its history with interiors inspiration drawn from 1950’s-60’s London and every corner turned you’ll find yourself wanting to reach for your camera to take away some interiors inspo. Not to worry – I’ve done it for you!
Herewith you’ll find shots of The Allis, as well as a quick highlights tour around White City House Members Club. See you there this summer!
