When the world gives you snow, you simply pair your spring arrivals with big boots and a cashmere top. I’m going to defeat this seasonal dressing if it kills me. Truly every single piece of clothing I buy now (minus the super chunky knits) will be made to wear any time of year, from winter to summer. I don’t know about you, but my London living space isn’t big enough anymore to accommodate any other scenario.
So here’s how I’m working it. Before any item comes home with me, I think about how I can wear it in cold weather and warm. Today’s skirt is a good example. This is a cotton a-line skirt that’s rather thin. For summer, it will work perfectly with either a simple tee or a button down shirt for work dos. For winter, I’m working it as you see here- with a massive chunky cashmere turtleneck, thermal leggings and big winter boots. This could also just be my subtle way of saying you are going to see a lot more things on repeat. Because, in reality, that’s how we all live these days. Our clothes need to work harder for a right to be in our closets. So I’m making sure my garments are ready for marathons, not style sprints!
