Alright, a few notes to start in explaining this ensemble. First of all, I ain’t a mini skirt kind of girl- never have been, never will be. It’s not that I wouldn’t love to wear a mini skirt, I just always dread the moment you have to bend over to pick something up. It’s fashion that isn’t practical and I’ve just gotten too long in the tooth to worry about such things. But, I make an exception for the moment you find a skirt (that happens to be in the petite section) that features a buoy print. All rules go out the window for me in that moment and the mini because a magnificent find.
That’s the mini out of the way, now let’s talk about the shoes. These are Fitflop sandals. I feel the need to mention this because Fitflops have never been my thing. I have previously always thought they were too strange looking for me- a bit out there with the giant wedge. But, I am a woman with renewed faith in a comfortable shoe. I commented on a friend of mine’s sandals the other day and she exclaimed, “they are these new things called Fitflops.” I didn’t have the heart to tell her this is a brand that’s been around for a while, but I did get excited about a new look and feel for a shoe that is most definitely better for all of our feet. So, if you haven’t looked at Fitflop for a while, may I suggest you do so. This isn’t an ad, just a concerned person looking out for your feet!
Last, but certainly not least, we have two beautiful brands that speak to the nautical soul in us all. Seasalt Cornwall make the jumper and it’s truly a magnificent piece for anyone looking to achieve preppy perfection in their pre-fall transition. And the bag, well that’s obviously L.L.Bean – an institution really.
Now I’m off out and about and hoping I don’t drop anything that needs picking up in the process…. or at least hoping no one I know is standing behind me when I do!
