I feel like I’m talking a lot about footwear at the moment, and with good reason. At the age of 37, I wish someone had told me it was important to pay more attention to what I wear on my feet as Iprogress through life. Alright, alright, my mom did tell me it was important but I didn’t listen, because she’s my mom and that would have been uncool. So, as I’m no one’s mother, I’m hoping this advice will be taken on board from someone who really does wish to communicate it’s importance. Wear comfortable shoes as often as possible. I’m not saying throw away the delicious six inch heels you wear when you are having a cab to curb only night out. I’m just saying, follow the 80/20 rule. Keep it real 80 percent of the time and I promise your feet will love you forever. Thankfully, and I’ll say it until I’m blue in the face, this doesn’t mean sacrificing style. You can wear “comfortable” shoes and still look amazing.
Case in point, my recent adventures in this pair of Hush Puppies. The navy wedges are three and a half inches in height, which more or less made me Shaq, if we are talking height equivalents. But I can guarantee Shaq isn’t walking around looking anywhere near as elegant or comfortable. I kid you not. These shoes are amazing. I wore them for eight hours straight I could have worn them a full 24, I’m pretty sure, had the need been there. So yeah, they get my vote. I’m sold. And they come in a size 43! Done and dusted.
