You guys know by now I’m all about sharing a decent find in my own backyard. This is the great thing about living in a city as big and booming as London Town – it’s constantly changing. New restaurants are always popping up here and there. Although, these days I think we’re all on the hunt for something different, not only with expectations of a culinary adventure but also an inspiring interior design as well. For me, the discovery of this hot new spot in Chiswick couldn’t come at a better time. Walking into No 197 Chiswick Fire Station was like walking into a Pinterest board of interiors highlights.
The pink sofas, whitewashed wood, gold finishes, cinema chairs, large leather benches and brilliant oversized cacti all lend themselves to interiors perfection for this new restaurant and bar in Chiswick. To come to No 197 Chiswick Fire Station and have a coffee is probably the best introduction to this space. In the morning, I find I have the place to myself and I’m able to truly take in every corner of this interiors delight, latte in hand. Early morning breakfasts aren’t filled with scensters looking to score a groovy cocktail and a selfie with a cactus, you see.
I had spotted this beauty on snapchat a few weeks ago. And, in fact, the snapchat in question was showcasing the space at happy hour. It was lively and full of young and trendy Londoners. But, those very same pink sofas and the arm of a cactus here and there led me to further research, and ultimately, to falling in love with this venue. It was only a few days ago now that I was sipping a coffee and tucking into a good book on their leather bench, so I’ve yet to go back for a cocktail, but I’ll let you know when I do. For now, put this on your radar for a must visit, even if you just want a chilled and beautiful space for coffee catchups with friends. Tell them Fashion Foie Gras sent you. They will probably raise an eyebrow and wonder if you too have a camera in tow!
