Londoners… can’t make it to Japan to celebrate the annual Cherry Blossoms beauty? Not to worry as one London restaurant is bringing the experience to you, complete with bento box and exotic cocktails.
Yes, Sakura at Sake No Hana is back for another year of celebrating beautiful blooms and fantastic Japanese food. This isn’t your normal culinary experience as your surroundings are designed to take you out of London and instantly transport you to the another realm. From the moment you approach Sake No Hana, you know this is something different. The doors are decorated with a lavish display of Cherry Blossoms and the floral festivities certainly don’t stop there. Upon entering the bar at Sake No Hana, you’ll find you have entered a space that is floor-to-ceiling floral. Even the floor at the restaurant has been transformed so that one could easily think they have stepped into a field, rather than a posh St. James establishment.
The meal begins with a cocktail experience. I say an “experience” as this isn’t a simple sip and enjoy moment. The specially designed Kaori Arpege Cocktail comes complete with three atomisers, which, when sprayed on the rim of the glass, give the cocktail three unique tastes.
While the cocktail was fantastic, we were looking for fabulous food on the fly. The bento box at Sake No Hana has always been a great lunch option for those in the area. It’s fast, super healthy and absolutely delicious. For the Sakura experience, the bento box delivers a plethora of delights. From the sashimi box and fresh sushi, to the extreme sugar high that is dessert – hello macaroons and chocolate sake mousse – this was a lunch that I could definitely indulge in daily.
Sadly, the Sakura Garden at Sake No Hana, and the accompanying menu, are only around for a limited amount of time. Get in there before 18th June 2016 to have your Cherry Blossom moment!
