FFG Beauty: My shiniest hair has come from a drug store shelf

Oh you guys know me – I love a bargain as much as I love a luxury find. And today, I feel like I’m bringing the big guns with this latest discovery. Charles Worthington sent over their Salon at Home Colour Revive Mousse for a trial run. Ladies and gents, after just one use the pictures above speak for themselves. That’s a rough dry – no brushes or straighteners, just me, my hand and my trusty hairdryer.

Now, just a word for all of you looking to try. For me, I found this truly was a product worthy of the price on the bottle. My hair is shinier, healthier looking, softer and just generally a better looking mane. I used the clear mousse, as I have my hair professionally coloured and I truly just wanted to enhance the shine and not play with the colour. But, if you’re a natural blonde or brunette, I’ve heard wonderful things about the colour mousses. It’s worth a go. So many salons charge £100s for treatments that don’t come anywhere near this level of success, in my humble opinion.

Basically the Charles Worthington Colour Revive Mousse works a little something like this. You take a shower, towel dry the hair a bit and divide your hair into four sections. Take two pumps of the product in hand and run through each section of the hair from root to tip. Wash hands after doing so (especially if you are using a colour enhancing gloss) and then style as usual. You can use this up to three times a week, but make sure you wash between uses. I’ve found that I actually have to wash my hair less. It actually extends the blow dry – very nice indeed as I’m embarking on a mission to drastically cut down the amount of times I wash my hair each week.

Go forth and shine, lovely ladies and lads!
