Seems American Vogue didn’t want to put just one model on their 866-page 2014 September issue, they went for a trio of model talent, or “The Instagirls” as the headline reads. Joan Smalls, Cara Delevingne and Karlie Kloss stand arm in arm on the cover this month, all smiles and wind machined hair. And of course we’re calling these three “The Instagirls.” They each have social followings capable of starting a world war if called to action. Forget the traditional “it girl,” as Vogue has truly just rebranded what it means to be popular in this day and age. It’s all about the numbers, ladies. Not sure if I was ready for that whole idea pre-coffee, but there it is, in black and white on the cover of Vogue.
