FFG in the press: Ralph Lauren & Heirlooms for The Daily Telegraph

Emily Johnston

For those of you that are regular Sunday Times readers, I do hope you tripped upon a pretty unique feature in the paper this weekend in their Spring Summer 2014 fashion supplement. The Telegraph wrote an entire piece about women and their relationship with heirloom pieces and asked me to share my love of Ralph Lauren Navajo sweaters.

I’ve been “borrowing” them from my mother’s closet for years and I was all too happy to step in front of the camera wearing one of my favourites, which is of course why I said that “wearing it feels like a hug from my mom from 4,000 miles away.”

When it comes to heirlooms, I do encourage all to think about their most treasured pieces. Keep them in tip top condition so that generations to come may enjoy their beauty. I was lucky enough to have a mother who kept her most prized possessions in the best condition with the idea that one day I would be reaching into her closet to give old pieces new life. Always think about the future generations and keep in mind that most trends come back full circle, it’s just a matter of time.
