Tommy Hilfiger builds a beach for New York Fashion Week Runway

Attendees at Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring Summer 2014 runway show had quite the surprise today as they arrived for the show. While several designers in the past have taken their models to the beach to walk the runway, Tommy Hilfiger built a beach in Manhattan for his show. Hey, if you can, why not?

Cameron Silver, of Decades, instagrammed the above picture of the runway scene before the storm. A boardwalk runs down the middle of the room surrounded by man made dunes and sea grass. It’s a scene you’d expect to find on the set of a movie, not at New York Fashion Week. Leave it to Tommy Hilfiger to keep us all guessing. Just when we thought last year’s High Line show couldn’t be beat, we have this wonderful setting in which to take in the new season’s garments.
