In awe of Osman, autumn winter 2013 from London Fashion Week

More often than not these days we find that designers in London come onto the catwalk with loud collections begging for attention. It’s a rare moment indeed when we get a designer that is capable of letting the designs speak for themselves, rather than throwing loud patterns or prints into the mix. Such understated elegance is usually reserved for the catwalks of New York. However, we’ve discovered one who’s changing that and may be bringing more buyers back to London with his sophisticated take on fashion. I am speaking of course of the great Osman Yousefzada, who presented his autumn winter 2013 collection in London last night to one of the most packed houses I have seen yet at London Fashion Week this season.

Osman is a designer that started with a buzz. From his first show, word on the street was “he’s the one to watch.” And now we know it was with good reason. This latest collection is subtle yet hits hard at the gut. The looks are clean and measured but there is something new and fresh about it all. It’s hard to put my finger on why this will sell but we all know it will. It will be featured, talked about and ultimately purchased around the world. Osman will continue to grow and he is definitely still one to watch. I do believe we are only just scratching the surface when it comes to what this great talent is capable of.
