There were some interesting venues at Stockholm Fashion Week, but one definitely takes the cake for being original and keeping us on our toes. Earlier this week Cheap Monday held their autumn winter 2013 show in an old gymnasium in Stockholm.
Keeping in mind there was snow on the ground and a definite nip to the air, there was no way we were going to snooze our way through this show as we all huddled together to create warmth on the front row. Although, that being said, there was no way one would doze off looking at this collection. From start to finish we were presented with the unexpected from slashed jeans with a sheer overlay to metallic bustiers. While the styling might not have been in my taste, it was easy to single out some pieces that will become highly desirable when they hit shop floors next autumn.
Note: The models all played their part fabulously in showcasing the collection. The reason I mention this may have something to do with the fact that they were not only battling with stairs and a slippery floor but also with below freezing temperatures and a choreographed zig-zagged runway. The things these ladies have to put up with, right?
