An Oscar de la Renta for The Outnet Collection is on its way

Oscar de la Renta has created a line exclusively for The Outnet. Take a second, remember to breathe, and imagine what that sentence means. First reaction here – “dream come true.” Could any words be sweeter? One of America’s biggest designers has just announced he is creating a line of clothing with a price tag that is much friendlier to our wallets. Sinking in yet? There’s an Oscar de la Renta for The Outnet collection coming…

WWD announced the collaboration this morning, releasing the above pictures alongside the breaking news. The Oscar de la Renta for The Outnet collection will consist of 24 pieces with prices ranging from $325 to $1,295. It will hit The Outnet on February 26th. Sadly, that means those of us attending the BAFTAs and BRITs will have to wait another year to rock these numbers on the red carpet. Yes, there are some red carpet looks in there. So while you might not get them for Valentine’s Day, there are plenty of pieces in here that will be sitting safely in your closet before the temperature changes back to spring.

Now let’s clear up a few details. First of all, these pieces, while not from the Oscar de la Renta seasonal runway, are definitely of the same quality you would buy from Oscar de la Renta spring summer 2013 collection. How do we know this? Well, the designer has confirmed that the items are made from the same factory as the mainline collection and they are bringing back old prints and fabrics from previous collections to create this special collaboration. A recycle and reuse strategy. We like it.

So with this news, we’ll try to carry on with our day without too much daydreaming of swanning around town in a little number from Oscar de la Renta for the Outnet. Not sure, at this point, if that is entirely possible.
