Mr Porter treats us to a night of Killer Martinis, half-naked men and life lessons

Earlier this week I attended an event hosted by Mr. Porter. Looking at the image above, I imagine you are visualising a fabulously classic cocktail gathering, as is typical of most fashion events. Oh if only that were the case. Rather, this was an evening I will not soon forget because of the unique things that were happening in and around this classic cocktail. In fact, before I go any further, let me show you the images I shared on twitter the night of the event. Let’s just say these images got a few of our hearts pumping faster as they were posted (just imagine being in the room!).

Yes, that’s right ladies… Mr. Porter treated us to our very own man show. Mr. Porter had set up a sort of peep show where you could watch the way in which a man should properly undress in front of a woman. I’m not sure about the other ladies watching, but I can safely say I was having trouble taking notes. The one thing I did notice, however, is that the model treating us to this “undressing” didn’t end up standing in his socks and boxers. In fact, I am suddenly remembering that, as the model sat down, his shoes and socks were the first two things to go. We all know there’s nothing more unattractive than a man in boxers and socks, even if he is sporting the most amazing set of abs I’ve ever seen!

The “activities” at the Mr. Porter event didn’t stop with the half-naked Adonis. From there we moved around the room learning about a man’s world. We were given wonderful instructions on how to tie a bow tie. Honestly, this has to be the most useful and also sexiest tool a woman can carry with her. How many times have you been headed to a black tie event and have heard a man scream, “does anyone know to to tie a bow tie?” It’s a skill we should all master as I imagine it’s just about the perfect pick up tool at a wedding. Am I right, or am I right?

The evening instantly became a bit blurrier after visiting the bartender who taught me to make a “Killer Martini”. It was in fact killer and one of the strongest I’ve ever tasted. That being said, it was also the most delicious. Again, note taking was tough here so I’ll have to get the recipe from Mr. Porter and get back to you on that one.

In the end, this was an evening that actually did finish with me jumping online and filling up my shopping cart with goodies for Mr. FFG. I couldn’t help myself, I was absolutely inspired. Being in a room full of perfectly dressed Mr. Porter men will do that to you.

Thank you, Mr. Porter, for an unforgettable evening!
