Last week London press gathered at Harrods in London to celebrate the launch of Mulberry’s Brilliant Britain, a “love letter to the nation.” We all spent the morning re-discovering what exactly makes Britain such a brilliant place. While truly we don’t need a guide to remind us of how beautiful this country is, Mulberry have brought together some of the biggest personalities on this tiny island to express just how magnificent our country is in their own words. Even Fashion Foie Gras was asked to contribute. Other notable personalities such as Tim Walker, Alexandra Shulman and Alain de Bottom all nominated places, things, traditions and innovations that make Britain Brilliant to them.
These nominations from across Britain all came together in the form of a beautiful printed booklet that debuted in store on the morning. However, the campaign to promote our country doesn’t stop there. Mulberry has also created a website that not only shares what we believe makes Britain Brilliant but also encourages you to share your own nomination. The best nominations will all be put together into a gallery on the website and will be in for a chance to win a “handbag of British curiosities” from Mulberry. Yes, please. Fingers crossed we’re entered for that draw as well.
I’d definitely recommend checking out the site for some recommendations of great places and things you might not otherwise discover on this island we all call home. Click on over to www.brilliantbritainguide.com for more and check out a few pictures from the launch party below.
