Save The Children and eBay team up to offer an online designer boutique auction

Exciting news this morning for those of you looking to simultaneously score a bargain and feel good about shopping. eBay and Save The Children have teamed up with The British Fashion Council and a handful of celebrities and designers to bring you an online designer boutique auction. #Bidboutique launched yesterday and has already seen a bit of buzz around the fabulous offering that is timed perfectly to coincide with one of the biggest moments in fashion for the UK – London Fashion Week.

The auction runs on eBay from September 13th-23rd. That’s only ten days to grab bargains from top designers such as Alexander McQueen, Temperley and Mawi. And if you want to grab a look at the items in person make sure to attend Vodafone London Fashion Weekend between 20 and 23 September where an exclusive pop-up Born to Shop Bid Boutique will be showcasing the top pics from the auction.

Erin O’Connor, face of the campaign and Ambassador to Save the Children, commented on the #bidboutique, “It’s a great cause and the proceeds will help stop the needless deaths of children in the poorest countries around the world. Please get behind the #bidboutique – you can grab a piece of beautiful designer fashion and do your bit to help save a child’s life.”

Rosie Shannon from Save the Children, said: “The Born to Shop #bidboutique online auction is part of our No Child Born to Die campaign to stop the needless deaths of more than 7.6 million children every year. With the money raised from the auction, we will be able to deliver life saving aid to children in some of the world’s poorest countries.”

The No Child Born to Die campaign aims to stop children dying from basic illnesses like pneumonia and diarrhoea because they can’t get the treatment they need. All proceeds from Born to Shop #bidboutique will help fund Save the Children’s life-saving work around the world.

Warm up the Amex, it’s time to shop!
