Antoni & Alison celebrate 25 years at London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week kicked off this morning with the Antoni &  Alison show at Somerset House. The designing duo had attendees wondering what on earth they could expect from the show as we were all greeted by a marching band at 9am. Having just come off a 6am flight from NYC, I was worried by what I saw. However, as the collection showcase began I found I was concentrating much more on the loud prints marching down the catwalk rather than the loud tuba. Of course this is always the intention, for the clothes to steal the show, and that’s exactly as it was. Within three looks I forgot there was even a marching band present.

Antoni & Alison explained before their show started that they wanted to create something like they had never done before. This show was, after all, a celebration of 25 years of designing together. In the end, the two created the Antoni & Alison Spring Summer 2013 collection in just four days while experimenting with listening to different music, eating different foods and allowed for “care-free” drawing. The end result was a collection of dresses that are completely unique in print and are easy elegant pieces for any wardrobe.

I interviewed the designers after the show with Triumph Lingerie, official suppliers of catwalk lingerie for LFW SS13, and discovered I have a great weakness for this designing duo. They are truly charming and you can tell 100% that they love what they do which of course made me love their designs even more. While speaking to both Antoni and Alison, they both mentioned their work with Triumph and the need for the best of the best when it came to lingerie at their show… hence Triumph. For dresses that certainly need to be “VP free,” Antoni & Alison trusted Triumph and Triumph only on their catwalks.
