Caroline Issa and Charlie Siem get J. Crew -ed!

It’s every fashion prepster’s dream to get that call from J. Crew asking, “we’d like to dress you head to toe in J. Crew.” Then add in “and have you step in front of the camera for Garance Dore and Scott Schuman,” and you have quite the memorable moment. J. Crew’s latest online feature, Hello World! did exactly this. Garance and Scott travelled to four capital cities across the globe seeking out the individuals that are making waves in the place they call home.

For the London segment of Hello World! J. Crew chose Caroline Issa, editor of Tank Magazine, and Charlie Siem,  classcial violinist, as their stars. The final images are accurate reflections of the beauty of not only the subjects but also the clothing that was chosen from J. Crew.

Now reflecting on my opening line of “It’s every fashion prepster’s dream…” I have to say that the stereotype for J. Crew is that it is a line only for the preppy amongst us. While it has been the classic preppy dream for decades, the Hello! World campaign actually helps in showing that J. Crew isn’t exclusively for those vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard. It’s a brand that has evolved over the years and is now embraced by those with many different aesthetics when it comes to style. It’s also a brand that used to be an American secret that is now embraced from the shores of Sydney to the banking centre of Britain.
