Anya Hindmarch’s Dunlop Green Flash shoes…from box to bottom

Anya Hindmarch, the queen of nostalgia these days, is bringing back another classic. Hindmarch has teamed up with Dunlop to transform a British icon – the Dunlop Green Flash

For those of you unfamiliar with these uber-famous green tongues, let me start by saying that the last time Wimbledon was won by a Brit…he was wearing Dunlop Green Flashes. This man was Fred Perry and Mr. Perry also chose to wear Dunlops for two previous wins at Wimbledon, and this all dates back to the 1930’s. Admittedly, the Dunlop Green Flashes have changed in the past 80 years. However, with over 25 million pairs sold to the masses over this time span, they have definitely not lost an ounce of love from the world.

The ‘Anya Original for Dunlop’ Green Flash plimsolls are beautifully and so quietly transformed to reflect the spirit of the designer. There are no huge prints splattered on the side or crazy massive logos to draw attention to their “specialness”. The Anya Hindmarch Dunlop Green Flashes are in fact only slightly altered to give them that special designer feel: multicoloured eyelets, an Anya marked tongue and the famous Anya Hindmarch ticking for the lining of the shoe. Seriously, you can feel Anya’s soul coming up from the sole of this shoes. I always love when a designer loves something so much and goes out of their way to make a project happen. That’s when you truly get a beautiful product and that’s exactly what you have here. Take a look at all the beautiful ways Anya Hindmarch has made a British icon her own…
