Julia Roberts wore 100,000 Swarovski crystals in Mirror Mirror

Imagine hand sewing 100,000 Swarovski crystals on three dresses? All I can think of are tiny hands that hurt like all get out by the end of a day’s work. However, for costume designer Eiko Ishioka and production designer Tom Foden, such a task was required to get their ‘Mirror Mirror’ costume design just right. After all, what’s a queen without a bit of bling? Julia Roberts’ wore the three dresses, made completely by hand, in the film for three scenes that required nothing less than a truly spectacular garment. From the golden costume ball to the elaborate wedding gown, Roberts looks absolutely stunning and quite shimmery, I imagine, due to all the crystals she’s flaunting.
