Fergie’s bad hair day stamped in our minds forever

This weekend, as I was clearing out boxes after a rather large move, I discovered a stamp I had found years ago in an old flat. It was the Commemorative Stamp from the Royal Wedding of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson (commonly known as Fergie or the Duchess of York) and the style took me right back to the age of big hair and even bigger shoulder pads. Fergie managed to escape the 1980s, discover a straightener and a more suitable shoulder enhancer and now looks all the better for it. However, one can’t help but compare her look her from 1986 to that of Melanie Griffith in Working Girl, which was made two years after this stamp was released. Could it be that the leading lady was inspired by Fergie’s style?

There is a lesson to be learned here… never go trendy when it comes to taking a picture that will remain forever! Need an example? Let us remember a stamp that was released only one year ago yesterday that features beauty that will never go out of style… I give you Will and Kate on stamped perfection! PS. Happy Anniversary to the gorgeous couple…
