Later this week I’m headed to Bicester Village for what has become one of my favourite shopping events on the calendar… the Bicester Village annual British Designers Collective. The pop-up boutique is in its third year now at Bicester and all I can say is that the second year was better than the first so I can only imagine the third year we are going to find all sorts of surprises. The list of the designers already has me sitting here with goosebumps.
The line up of designers is seriously intense! There will be so much talent in this space that, at the risk of sounding like a total cliche, “will blow your mind.” It includes Nicholas Kirkwood, Preen, Osman, Markus Lupfer, Peter Pilotto, Holly Fulton, Bella Freud, James Long, Goat, Emma Cook, Hermione de Paula, Jean Pierre Braganza, Pauric Sweeney, Lily and Lionel, Mawi and Erickson Beamon. Now tell me you aren’t excited knowing all those names will be in one place (and that one place also happens to be a shopping heaven in itself).
Harold Tillman, Chairman of The British Fashion Council said:
‘The British Fashion Council are delighted to be continuing their collaboration with Bicester Village on the ‘British Designers Collective’ boutique. This is a unique platform for London Fashion Week designers to showcase their designs to new audiences. This year’s dedicated menswear phase, adds an extra dimension to the boldly British boutique and validates the excitement surrounding a year that celebrates all that is British.’
Just a few words of advice to take with you on your shopping adventure…
The pop-up boutique will open to the public on the 22nd of March. Now I’ll go ahead and warn you that you won’t be able to stop with just the pop-up boutique. You need to prepare yourself for a full day of fashion. There’s no avoiding it. You’ll be seduced by all that’s on offer. So wear comfortable shoes, an easy on-off dress and make sure all your credit cards are paid off before entering the village. It will be carnage… but you’ll have an amazing wardrobe at the end to show for your efforts!!! Happy spending and see you at Bicester!
