You will have already read about the exciting news of J. Crew and Manolo Blahnik but that’s just one tenth of the good news coming from the J. Crew camp this season. The clothes themselves are the real stars of the show with preppy textured methodical madness… or at least that’s how we’re describing their most recent presentation at New York Fashion Week. Leave it to Jenna Lyons to put together textures and prints in ways we never even imagined and with pieces that are often so classic and basic that you are amazed when you finally see them hanging on the rack solo.
What we all wish we were actually buying, every time we walk into a J.Crew store, is Jenna’s style. It’s become a way of dressing and in fact should receive it’s own “style reference” like one says about dressing “prep” or “boho chic”…J. Crew have given us the “Lyons” look and each season it’s presented with new textures and shapes that keep us coming back and begging for more.
UPDATE: Telegraph has just published a story where they got the inside track that J Crew is in fact opening a retail store in London… here’s the quote straight from Jenna Lyons: “We’re looking at spaces on Regent Street. And I wouldn’t mind being in Covent Garden for a smaller store. It won’t be just one store – we’re not gonna be stingy.”
