Antonio Berardi Autumn Winter 2012

I must start this by saying that I am biased from the moment I step into an Antonio Berardi show. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. This designer is so incredibly talented and his collections have only become better and better with each new runway presented.

This year, Berardi was on fire from the very first look, a short dress featuring a skirt of strategically placed ruffles. And before we get too far into this review, I have to say that the models should be applauded for battling with stairs this year at Berardi! That’s not something you see very often at London Fashion Week and it was navigated with style and grace.  As the show progressed we were presented with a lovely rich tangerine that was showcased in quite a few structured garments from long dresses to hip slung trousers. Following in line with the fruits we also saw  a lovely peach colour showcased which I especially loved in a gorgeous mini skirt!

This season Berardi played with shapes on his women by piecing fabrics together to create illusion dresses that will flatter nearly any form and will also be on several stylists’ racks as they look at red carpet options this year. And while we are on the topic of red carpet… there was one dress in particular that we thought would have been an absolute perfect fit for Rooney Mara for this year’s Academy Awards. Can you guess which one it is?
