PPR acquires Brioni

PPR, owners of Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, and many more, continue to expand in the fashion world. Their latest acquisition, announced just minutes ago, is the famed tailoring house Brioni.  Founded in 1945, Brioni is renowned for it’s wonderful sartorial knowledge and flawless execution of such knowledge. It’s a brand that is equally loved by men and women as men look great in their pieces and the women are kept happy with the tailored eye candy (and more recently pleased that they can buy Brioni for themselves as well).

Famous lovers of Brioni suits include all men that have played 007 (as this was the official suit of the character), Clark Gable and Cary Grant. Donald Trump is also known to be a big fan, which makes us wonder if he’s one of the few who have purchased Brioni’s famous $43,000 pinstriped suit!

François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and CEO of PPR, declared : “Brioni boasts top quality craftsmanship and is synonymous with Italian masculine elegance. It is the reference in ready-to-wear and bespoke menswear and I am delighted that it is joining our magnificent portfolio of luxury brands. We have great ambitions for this fashion house.  We will give it access to our expertise and know-how, so that it can write a new page in its history while continuing to preserve its identity.”
