Ralph Lauren Spring Summer 2012 from New York Fashion Week

Ralph Lauren Spring Summer 2012 is nothing short of amazing. How this man continues to churn out winning collections season after season is above and beyond anything we’ll ever be able to comprehend. There are the trademark Ralph elements in every piece so there’s no great adventure in playing with design here. But as my dad used to say, “If it isn’t broken, why fix it?”

Ralph usually takes one time period or inspiration and he runs with it throughout an entire collection from start to finish. Two seasons ago it was the wild wild west look and last season it was the Asian element. This season it seems he was influenced by the roaring 1920s. This is particularly interesting as Ralph Lauren was responsible for the wardrobe on one of the greatest films depicting that era – “The Great Gatsby”. Who will ever forget Robert Redford and Mia Farrow dressed so elegantly as they took tea or danced the night away as luxurious parties! Looks like Ralph Lauren’s tell us that it’s time to take a step back and embrace timeless looks for days gone by!

Looks we loved…. well, frankly speaking there wasn’t anything we didn’t love!
