Hermes Autumn Winter 2011

Christophe Lemaire‘s first season for Hermes was a cracking success. For those who said it was mistake to hire an ex-Lacoste designer to represent such a prestigious luxury brand, today the joke’s on you.  Lemaire presented a comfortable and elegant look for Hermes Autumn Winter 2011.  One could easily wear most of the collection from lunch to launch on a daily basis. And who doesn’t love that kind of versatility in clothing? However, I do think it will be some time before Christophe truly finds his feet at Hermes. The brand, which is so often celebrated for it’s effortless chic look, seemed a tiny bit forced this season. It was as if Lemaire was pushing to see what he could do.  We welcome the pushes and look forward to the future with Lemaire at the helm!
