Rodarte dresses live from the Prairie….Fall 2011

I am a country girl at heart. I belong in open fields and the fresh air. However, I live in a concrete jungle. Go figure. There are rare moments when I remember how it feels to be in a completely wide open space and I long for that freedom. So it surprised me to find that I was longing for such places as I watched the Rodarte show from New York (the king of concrete jungles).  Four dresses, in particular, made me wish I could run my fingers through wild tall grass. Kate and Laura Mulleavy created four dresses with wheat fields printed on the hems and country skies occupying the rest of the long silk silhouetted gowns for Autumn Winter 2011.   The entire collection was “country” inspired this season…but I had to zoom in on these four creations in particular. They are works of genius as they not only create a beautiful look but also a beautiful memory.
