Prada Autumn Winter 2011, Milan Fashion Week

The show kind of went like this… solids, prints, fur, snakeskin, furry, sequins and finally- combinations of them all.  Ok that’s the roughest sketch possible…but Miuccia Prada managed to fit all of this into a 41 look show in which models didn’t just walk one catwalk, they walked three…one TWO STORIES! It was more than a little bit crazy.  The night started out on a sour note as the show began one hour late!rumour has it that the fittings had just started when the show was scheduled to begin)! Even Hilary Alexander looked as if she was about to walk out just before the show started.  Needless to say, Prada would have to be on rare form to make up for such a delay.  Once the music started and the models began their long winded walks down the runways, editors seem to relax and all at once the room knew it was worth the wait. This was a show worthy of a two hour wait.  Yes, it was a bit neurotic. Looks were all over the place.  But, it all worked. It all flowed and it ended up being a glossy magazine’s dream. You will be seeing A LOT of these looks in September issues. I can almost guarantee it. These are pieces that are begging to be photographed…from the snakeskin booties to the furry caps upon the models’ heads.
