Moschino Autumn Winter 2011, Milan Fashion Week

I was a bit distracted at the start of the Moschino show this season. I was wondering why I was looking at women that were dressed in gorgeous garments topped off by Chauffeur’s hats.  This is not a trend I plan on embracing in the chilly months to come.  It was a very androgynous moment.  In the end, I managed to put my own style prejudices aside (trust me, it’s never easy) and zero in on the finer details presented. We’ve come to expect a strong monochromatic look from Moschino, however this season they added a little more spice to the mix with a strong showing of Navy blue and glittery gold.  The show may have started off with an androgynous feel, however the collection as a whole was one of the most ladylike presentations from Moschino to date. For the first time ever I’m seeing dozens of investment pieces from this brand. Although, let’s get real…a Moschino piece will always be in style…whether you’re buying in 2011 or 1991. It may not seem like the most likely “investment piece” brand but it has proven to be a designer that is never off trend.
