Breakfast with MAC in London

This morning I was invited to sit in on a very intimate gathering with MAC’s Director of Make-up artistry, Terry Barber. If I could have transported you all into this room for the event, I would have. What an amazing tutorial. We started with a video explaining the trends for spring summer 2011, which included gorgeous copper, dream, neon and natural looks. My god, it is amazing what makeup is capable of creating these days. This season, MAC is doing 56 runway shows and each designer requires a different look and feel for their show. MAC’s job is making their vision a reality. For the Braganza show, for example, Terry was told to create a look like an electric guitar! How do you even begin to do that? Well, we were taken through the whole process and by the end, I must say that I had a new found respect for the creative talent that works backstage. As each layer of makeup was applied to the model’s face, we watched as a clean face became a model’s face and an artist’s vision. Amazing! Here’s a look at the fabulous morning with MAC…

We were also given a book covering all the looks from MAC’s shows for Spring Summer 2011. I can’t help but share a few pages. This will be my go-to face book for the new season! I wonder if MAC would send a makeup artist to move in with me for the year. Sort of pro bono work? 🙂
