Karl Lagerfeld designs a collection for Macy’s!

This has to be the biggest news in fashion on this day. Karl Lagerfeld is launching a collection for Macy’s department store next fall!  Ok, stop screaming and read the rest of the details.  In September 2011 Macy’s will carry a one off limited edition Lagerfeld capsule collection which will be sold in 250 Macy’s stores and online. I haven’t been this excited since H+M announced their Lagerfeld capsule collection in 2004! Lanvin, who? Lagerfeld rocked the world with his collection for the masses with H+M (although maybe I won’t bring up that this was the same time I fell out of love with Lagerfeld for the comments he made about objecting to carrying larger sizes of the line as he didn’t want those women wearing his clothes).

Macy’s isn’t stopping with Lagerfeld. They are introducing an entire designer initiative that will begin in February with the famed London designer Kinder Aggugini.

Well played, Macy’s.  Looks like I’ll be booking a stateside visit more often than not next year!
