Givenchy Spring 2011 from Paris Fashion Week…The highlights

Every year Givenchy is a pleasure to watch.  Riccardo Tisci has a talent for structuring a garment that is unrivalled in the industry today. His pieces are ultra-chic in a way that makes them stand out as works of art yet they are wearable! How often can you say that about designers? All month we’ve seen great designs that have lit up catwalks but so often they only ever go as far as the end of the runway and then they’re “eye-time” is over. Tisci’s pieces translate perfectly from catwalk to sidewalk. In fact, throughout the entire show I couldn’t help but think “I can’t wait to see Anna Dello Russo out in these pieces being hunted by style photographers.”

The a-list crowd in attendance, which included the likes of Lily Allen, Liv Tyler and Amanda Lear, were all sporting Givenchy tailored jackets that were mirror images of what we saw on the catwalk.  Riccardo Tisci knows what works and he translates trends perfectly onto a canvas he has built over the years.  Congratulations on an amazing show.  Without further ado, I give you the Givenchy Spring Summer 2011 Catwalk…
