Karl Lagerfeld photography exhibition opens today in Paris

We all know Uncle Karl as the Karl Lagerfeld behind Chanel (and of course his own brand Karl Lagerfeld). He’s a wonder of all wonders when it comes to fashion and he’s constantly transforming himself, whether it be in weight or in talent.  One of his true passions that has recently garnered a great deal of attention is photography. Today, an exhibition of his work opens at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris.  There will be around 300 pieces on display, all shot with the eye of the fashion genius. WWD reports that Lagerfeld shot his first picture in 1987 after becoming frustrated with the quality of photographs coming back for the Chanel press kit.

Since that fateful day Lagerfeld has shot for nearly every major glossy magazine you can list as well as shooting campaigns for his own lines.  He now employs a team of six who work full time in his photo studio in Paris.

This show will be one not to miss! So for all you fashionistas over in Paris for the shows, put this in your diary as “Must See”.
