Abercrombie & Fitch fined $1.05 million for violating federal immigration laws in Michigan

Talk about kicking them when they’re down! $1.05 million is a hefty price tag for making employment mistakes and unfortunately it comes at a time when Abercrombie & Fitch is trying to stay afloat as it is!

The worst part is that the ICE actually has no proof that A&F was actually employing illegal aliens.  They just filed some documents incorrectly! How horrible is that?  That’s a big price to pay for what seems like a simple mistake. I think there are a lot of companies at the moment that are looking at the way in which they undertake the employment verification process. This is serious business, folks…with serious consequences. I do actually feel a tinge of sadness for A&F. They are clearly being used as an example by the ICE all other retailers…
