Donna Karan is the one woman in fashion I have always held on a pedestal. She has been my American icon from day one. Her beauty, talent and kind heart are all difficult to find within just one person. She is truly one of a kind. So when I came across the news this morning that Donna Karan is once again doing something to give back I couldn’t help but share. Karan has donated her vacation home on Parrot Bay in Turks and Caicos for four nights, accomodating eight people, which is estimated to be worth in excess of $40,000. It’s all in the name of charity! The auction is on now at Charitybuzz and the next bid is $17,000. For those of you that are die hard Donna Karan fans you will already be familiar with the humble abode as it has been featured in Architectural Digest in a gorgeous shoot back in December 2009. If you missed the issue, here are some pics of the house that could be yours for a four whole days!
Here are all the details from Charity Buzz:
The Sanctuary, Donna Karan’s private estate located on Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos sits among the island’s lush vegetation.
Just a few steps away from the white sand beach and with views of the turquoise waters, the house is comprised of a master bedroom/sitting area with 360 degree views and three other ensuite bedrooms each with private baths and queen beds. In addition to an infinity pool, the home also features a screened pavilion for dining, movie watching, lounging or swimming in an additional pool, wireless internet, iPod docks throughout, satellite TV, DVD players in each bedroom and housekeeping service. Cedar paneled walls, teak furniture, walnut floors and eclectic pieces from Donna’s travels adorn the house and pavilion. Please note that a private chef is available at an additional charge.
