L.K. Bennett, a favourite footwear company for the UK, is trying its luck with the USA marketplace. In August, the brand will appear in four Bloomingdale’s stores on the east coast of America. They are some of the most prestigious Bloomgingdales in the country: Manhattan, Hackensack, N.J., King of Prussia, Pa. and Tysons Corner, Virginia. If these shoes can’t sell in these shopping hotspots…they won’t be able to sell anywhere!
“We have 100 stores in the U.K. right now — and in the long term we’d like to have the same number of stores in the U.S.,” said Robert Bensoussan, executive chairman, in an interview with WWD at the brand’s slick headquarters near Oxford Street here.
Best of luck guys, the US market is a tough egg to crack!
