Ralph Lauren launches a quartet of scents targeted at a younger male audience

WWD reported this morning that Ralph Lauren will launch a quartet of scents seeked a younger male market for the brand. The Big Pony Collection is made up of the four passions that drive young men: 1. Sport  2. Seduction  3. Adventure  4. Style

“Our Polo Ralph Lauren Fragrances have a history in the classic tradition and heritage of the sport of polo,” the designer told WWD. “The Big Pony Collection is inspired with that tradition and sensibility in mind but is geared toward a new generation of young men who are fans of the Big Pony Polo shirts that we create in a variety of fun, colorful styles. We want him to choose his shirt and scent to accompany his mood and personal style. It is all about choice.”

We think it’s a fabulous idea and is sure to bring in quite the young crowd of men – most of whom need a little bit of guidance when it comes to smell (as mothers and girlfriends of young males will tell you). Well played, RL. We can’t wait to smell the entire line and spritz some on the young men in our lives.
