Graduate Fashion Week London 2010

London, you’ve done it again. You’ve shown the world that the true talent in fashion comes straight from the schools in the United Kingdom.  What a day. I am at a loss as to where to start here…So I’ll just get stuck in…

This morning I attended the opening day of Graduate Fashion Week at Earls Court in London.  This is my first year attending the shows at GFW and I have to be honest and say that I didn’t know what at all to expect. I can say, without a doubt, that I wasn’t expecting to see what I did today.  I witnessed the future of fashion. Today I watched as designers sent runway models down the catwalk in designs that scream “sit up, take notice, we are the future Lagerfelds, Galianos, McQueens and Rykiels.” I snapped so many pictures that my camera let out a huge sigh of relief when she was finally put back in her case. I sifted through over 3,000 shots and I’d like to present here for you what I think to be the best of the day.

Over the next nearly three dozen posts you will witness some talent that will shock you and, in some cases,  cause you to jump out of your seats. I’ve including contact info for each of the graduates so that you can get in touch and tell them just how amazing they are. Remember that all of these individuals are fresh to the scene. They’re in need of encouragement and even a simple email of congratulations can sometimes change so much for a designer! Plus, you might just want to get on their radar now before their names are in lights over the catwalks of the future!
