Speaking of Talbots…we are suckers for a good cause

Take a moment and remember who you are and what it took to get you where you are today. Thank all those people who loved and supported you throughout the difficult times. Then think about how you can do the same for someone else.

Buy every one of your girlfriends this gorgeous Rose Scarf from Talbots and send it with a note. Tell them what they have meant to you in your life and explain that the money you spent on this scarf will go to helping a woman become something great in this world…someone as wonderful and inspirational as they are to you. Trust us, there won’t be a dry eye in the house.

Here’s a little more information on the Talbots Scholarship programme:

Talbots is relaunchingtheir Women’s Scholarship Fund.  The program, designed to aide women seeking education later in life, first started in 1997 and to dateTalbots has givenover 1 million dollars in scholarships to women across the country.  This year Talbots plans to give twelve $10,000 scholarships to women who apply via the online application. Applicants will be judged by a celebrity panel. Past judges were Caroline Kennedy, Hannah Storm, Joyce Carol Oates, Naomi Judd and Martina McBride.

To honor and support the Scholarship Fund, Talbots has designed a silk scarf with 100% of the net proceeds going directly to the scholarship program. Available in all stores and on online in October, the scarf will retail for $50.

The timing of the Talbots Women’s Scholarship program could not be more fortuitous, as the mission to expand women’s educational opportunities and improve the nation’s qualified workforce is at the forefront of the news with President Obama’s “Mom’s Return to School” government grant scholarships.  Information about the Talbots Women’s Scholarship Fund will eventually be listed on www.talbots.com, along with an online application.

We will keep you up to date with any announcements we hear and we will also post a link directly to the Fund when it becomes available.
