I mentioned previously that Net-a-Porter invited me to the launch of their new online Bridal Boutique. I only really got a chance to flip through the entire boutique last night and my head was absolutely swirling. I have no wedding ring on my finger but all of the sudden I had a great urge to run out and bag the nearest available bachelor (just kidding boyfriend of mine). The possibilities for bridalwear seemed endless and I found myself in a real dilemma….what sort of wedding do I want to have? Honestly, you can’t decide on your wedding dress until you have made a decision about the type of wedding you wish to follow through with. So I narrowed it down to three possibilities: The Beach Wedding, The Vegas Wedding and The Traditional Wedding. Then I went into hyperdrive and put together potential bridal party wear (on the female side of things) from all items available online at Net-a-Porter. The results are, well, they are here below. Yes, I know I am a little bit crazy but these are the things you do at three in the morning when counting sheep doesn’t help. The bottom line is this….I am proving to myself, and my readers, that when Net-a-porter claims they can outfit you for your wedding….they mean it! There is something for everyone in this gorgeous online heaven.
The Beach Wedding. This is a day of relaxation, calm and soothing colours and just enjoying your surroundings so you want to keep the look as neutral and low key as possible. There are no shoes needed for this type of wedding as you want your bridal party to sink their feet into the sand during the ceremony (and not worrying about whether their heel is disappearing into the sand instead). Keep things simple with a nice accessory such as the Stella McCartney’s bracelet paired here with the dresses.
Wedding Dress: Lanvin Strapless silk-Charmeause £1600
Bridesmaid Dresses: Stella McCartney’s One-shouldered Jersey Dress £495
Stella McCartney Bracelet £185
The Vegas Wedding is all about going crazy. It’s as out there as it gets and it’s meant to be a night of flash. You’ll either do it with the groom alone or with a very select group of friends. Encouraging everyone to go as nuts as possible is the name of the game. However, a girl always wants to look her best so why not go crazy in couture?

The Traditional Wedding takes place at a church, often in the evening, so it will be black tie. What better way to dress you bridesmaids than in a dress that they can wear to infinity and beyond, during and after the wedding, with the Donna Karan infinity dress? And for the bride…well, the bigger the dress is, the better. But for a traditional wedding you also want it to be simple and elegant. Throw a strand of pearls on yourself and gift a pair to each bridesmaid so that they will always have something to remember the day.
