All Iceland: Where to stay, what to wear and what you have to do!

I’ve been lucky enough to experience some pretty epic adventures, around the world, over the past decade. But, nothing could have prepared me for my most surprising adventure to date…. Iceland. This country absolutely blew my mind. It’s as much a travel destination for adrenaline junkies as it is for spa sisters. Even a simple drive feels like an otherworldly expedition. The view from every window is magical, new and full of such extreme beauty that nothing at all feels real. It isn’t until now, that I am looking back on the pictures and videos and experiences, that I believe it happened at all. To live in this world and not visit Iceland at least once in your lifetime is truly to miss out on one of the greatest travel pleasures in existence. And as I know we all don’t have all the time in the world plan these things, I’ve given you the itinerary that I felt gave me the best view of this country. This is your travel guide to Iceland featuring the best hotels, the best activities and even a bit of a tutorial on what to pack for outfits. There’s even a video highlighting the moments that couldn’t be captured with a still image alone! Let this act as just the jumping off point. Get to Iceland. Adventure is waiting…

Your travel guide to Iceland

Where to stay:

Tower Suites Reykjavik

Sandhotel Reykjavik

Hotel Ranga

What to pack and what to wear:

For winter walking in the city
For stylish snow moments

For cold mornings in the country

For glacier hiking and snowmobiling

How to get there:

Depending on where you are in the world, you’ll need to do your research to find what’s easiest for you with airlines. However, it must be said that Iceland is extremely easy to get to both from Europe and North America. It’s less than a three hour flight from London, a mere five hours from New York City and only eight hours from Seattle. For our trip, we flew Norwegian, which was spacious, had lovely staff, ran completely on time and delivered us there and back safe and sound. Can’t ask for more than that, now can you?

What to do while you are there:

Eat Ice Cream with Cows

Go Glacier hiking

Snowmobile on the top of a glacier!

Soak in the Blue Lagoon

Walk Black Sands Beach

Pet an Icelandic Horse (and go riding if you have time!)

Chase every waterfall

Just DRIVE!
