Five Friday Favourites: Luxury on the High Street

Last week I spent a day, unintentionally, weaving in and out of high street stores in London. I’d like to say it was fate, but really it was a rainy day, which led to a series of cancelled meetings proving my theory that the fashion industry is full of people that truly have a fear of rain (I kid). I, however, must be the exception to the rule as I was out and about on a mission to fill the blank hours without heading back to the office, which would mean another trip back into the city. So, there I was on Oxford Street with time to kill and a series of shopping opportunities laid before me. What I found was truly sensational. Store after store presented bargains galore. The high street this season is delivering in an epic fashion and I actually found it difficult to narrow down my finds to just five for today. But there we are and here’s a bit more about each, with a link, in no particular order, and with two online discoveries as well:

1. Lands’ End Soft Leisure Boucle Turtleneck
This is the ultimate in a cozy knit, lovelies. Whether you keep it for lounging around at home with a pair of leggings or wear out and about with jeans and over the knee boots, this is the fashion gift that keeps on giving.

2. Geox Block Heels
I was absolutely stunned when I discovered these block heels. I’m going to be honest and admit that I truly thought Geox was not a “fashion” led brand for footwear. Oh how wrong am I? And by the way, they come in green too!

3. Lands’ End Woven Throw
I’m obsessed with monogramming these days and even more obsessed with Lands’ End. While this is technically a throw, and would be a great one, I’ve ordered one to wear as an oversized scarf!

4. Mango Committed Leather Strap Bag
I don’t even know where to start with this bag. I literally galloped into Mango to buy the last one in store. This is Celine on the high street. It’s gorgeous, massive and with the tiniest price point. You will believe you’ve died and gone to heaven. Just saying.

5.Accessorize Contrast Scarf Cross Body Bag
Another bag steal here and you know it’s a deal as it’s from Accessorize. We are all about the scarf detailing on bags these days and those scarves don’t always need to be Hermes, ladies. This is the perfect little cross body to add a punchy piece of colour to a simple ensemble. Get involved.
